We need 100 lawyers to disagree with us.
Can AI make lawyers more human?
One hundred conversations about what great legal practices should protect, improve and never automate away.
Come disagree with us20 minutes. No pitch. Whiskey optional.
Why we’re doing this
The legal industry is asking the wrong question.
Most conversations about AI begin with:
“What can AI replace?”
We’re more interested in:
“What can AI give back?”
Time to listen. Time to think. Time to advise. Time to build relationships. Time to actually practice law.
We may be wrong. But the best lawyers have spent decades developing judgment, trust, intuition, reputation and an understanding of people. Technology should amplify those qualities, not flatten them.
What we want to learn
Four lines of inquiry.
- 01
The Human Lawyer
What work makes attorneys feel most useful, alive and valuable?
- 02
The Operational Burden
What repeatedly steals time from lawyers and their teams?
- 03
Institutional Memory
What knowledge, judgment and experience is currently trapped inside individuals?
- 04
The AI Opportunity
Where could AI genuinely improve the practice without damaging trust or humanity?
The opening questions
We’ll probably ask more.
But these are where we begin.
- 1.
What has been the biggest operational challenge for your firm over the last five years?
- 2.
What do you believe will be the biggest challenge over the next five?
- 3.
If you could wave a magic wand and remove one frustrating part of running your firm, what would disappear?
Who should participate
People close enough to the work to know what gets in the way.
We are particularly interested in
- Managing Partners
- Founders and Firm Owners
- Senior Attorneys
- COOs and Practice Managers
- Marketing or Operations leaders
The firms we hope to hear from
- Small to mid-sized legal practices
- Approximately 3–50 attorneys
- Northeastern United States
- Relationship-driven
- Interested in the future of the profession
These are areas of interest, not hard exclusion criteria.
A fair exchange
You give us 20 minutes.
We give something back.
- A summary of the final research findings
- A short AI Era Systems Digital Authority Snapshot
- Observations on the firm’s public digital presence
- Relevant patterns identified across the research cohort
The snapshot is an informed observation of public information—not formal legal benchmarking or proprietary competitive intelligence.
Participation record
Add your voice to the research.
Tell us enough to understand the firm and the question you would like this research to answer. The form creates a private relationship record in HubSpot; it does not publish your details.
Individual conversations will be treated respectfully. We may publish aggregated themes and anonymized observations from the research.
We will not attribute comments to you or your firm without permission.

The working hypothesis
The future of law should still feel human.
We think the most interesting role for AI may be the one nobody is talking about:
Not replacing the lawyer.
Removing everything that gets in the lawyer’s way.
